Next Pop-up Retreat – Saturday 22 September, 11.30 to 4.30.
Our unique Saturday pop-up yoga retreats are set in a very special location, our home within a beautiful home, in the heart of rural Somerset, close to Glastonbury. Suitable for all including beginners, retreats are kept small, friendly and non-competitive, with a maximum of 6 people. Integrating the body, mind and breath for physical and emotional wellbeing, they are a great way to make space for yourself, de-stress, let go of tension, relax, immerse yourself in yoga and meet like-minded people. Perfect for attending on your own, with friends or for giving as a special gift.
We will ease into the day from 11.30 with relaxation and then create gentle heat in our bodies with a 90-minute flowing vinyasa yoga class. Flowing between postures in a moving meditation, we build strength, flexibility and bring stillness to the mind. The class is influenced by Hatha Yoga for classical asana (poses), Sivananda Yoga for subtle mind and breath work, Iyengar Yoga for alignment and posture, and Ashtanga Yoga for heat, flexibility and stamina.
Generous gourmet sandwiches with a choice of fillings and salad will be prepared on site during the class for a sociable lunch amongst new friends.
The theme for the afternoon is creating space for ourselves, letting go and relaxing. We start with a short meditation session then move on to explore pranayama, (use of the breath), perhaps the most powerful tool to still and calm the mind. A 90-minute Hatha and restorative yoga class follows focusing on letting go of tension. The day ends with yoga nidra, a deep relaxation to leave you feeling balanced, refreshed and rejuvenated.
Our venue is The Drawing Room at Lower Rocks Farmhouse, a beautifully restored stone farmhouse in one of Somerset’s prettiest villages, with interior design by the graphic designer owner who also lovingly prepares our lunch and afternoon tea.
What people said about our July retreat
“It was a wonderful day from start to finish. Carolyn is a fantastic teacher, very clear, knowledgeable and encouraging in how she leads you through the practice. Each yoga session has a different focus and seems to complement what’s gone before; the day has obviously been put together in a very thoughtful way. The retreat venue itself is lovely with a beautiful separate meditation room and delicious lunch and afternoon tea all included. I can’t recommend this highly enough” ET.
“Thank you both for a wonderful and different experience. Two very talented women making their mark. Six of us enjoyed an inspiring day of yoga and meditation sessions including beautifully presented drinks, lunch and tea” VB.
